minnesotans for global warming

Way back in July 2009, I stumbled upon the Anti-Supermom's blog from a shout out from her uncle, Iowa Hawk.  I really love Iowa Hawk, so when he humbly succeeded the Funniest Blog in the Family mantel to Beth, it got my attention. Beth lives in Minneapolis.  I find some irony in this because for years Countrymouse wanted to move to Minnesota (without ever having been there, mind you).  An interesting fact about Minnesota, according to, is that "Over the last several years, (they have) developed one of the most thriving blog cultures in the country."  Who knew?  Maybe with upwards of 70 inches of snowfall a year in their snow belt, it's a good way to pass the time??

We all know how the blogosphere works.  A blogger you like mentions a blogger she likes.  You follow the link.  If you like her too, then you'll be back.  The Anti-Supermom reads The Marketing Mama. Now I do. These Minnesotan ladies were involved in a blogger event to help the people in Haiti and The Marketing Mama listed everyone involved. I checked out a lot of these ladies.  Now I read a lot of their blogs too. (There's days I secretly wish we really lived in Minnesota (minus the snow) so I could hang out with these chicks.)

This is a very convoluted way to explain that I have a soft spot for Minnesota.

Yesterday, Wizbang posted a video from Minnesotans For Global Warming.  I love these guys.  With any luck they'll spawn a Marylanders For Global Warming chapter, but I won't hold my breath. In any case, check out their website and, for sure, watch the video below. Their parody is named "Frozen Wasteland" and is a nod to The Who. I love the Viking helmet which is an homage to the awesome season the Vikings had this year (Show Your Horns...Woot Woot).

  1. Great you tube clip one of my old favs. Not seen it song like that before, al that snow poor flamingoes! were they real and all those snowmen!

  2. If you haven't seen Climategate Glaciergate...:Hitler's Last Straw,
don't miss the response to Frozen Wasteland which you can also see here:

It's the one with two women in the picture.
The caption is partially obscured, it says:
"We told so many lies, young scientists are totally [confused]"

Here is the lead in from the clips comment page:

"As chief operating officer for the cabal of Billionaires who control the global warming scam, Hitler quickly realizes the long range implications of "Glaciergate"."

  3. I think it's crazy/interesting about all the bloggers in MN! You're right, with all the frozen tundra, what else is there to do, but blog! ha!

Random love is always welcomed...
