It sounds almost cliché to say
"Home is where the heart is"...
"Home is where the heart is"...
but what if it's true?
After you've lived life a bit, you realize that life expands and contracts... and so do the people in your life. For me, that's what it's all about... the people. It doesn't matter where I am or what I am doing... as long as I am with the people I love, I am happy. The greatest joy I have is to open my home and gather up all the folks I love... to celebrate them and care for them. I've learned never to take a gathering of love ones, big or small, for granted.
Family, friends, food, good drink and music... a prefect combination, indeed!
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros sing, Home. The chorus is:
Ahh home. Let me come home.
Home is wherever I'm with you.
Ahh home. Let me go home ho-oh-ome.
Home is wherever I'm with you.
We agree!! It's all about the people! That's why we like coming together at the Table!! Thanks for sharing a bit of inspiration with us on Fancy Friday!! Chris Ann & Kristin
ReplyDeleteSo true! Great post. Thanks for stopping my blog. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI was really blessed by this post, and share your heart for home. I especially like when you wrote about not taking the gatherings for granted. Amen to that!
ReplyDeleteah, it is true.
ReplyDeleteand that's a lovely song.
What a great post. Couldn't agree more, home is where your loved ones reside! The rest is just sticks and bricks!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree. When my husband and I were having a hard time last year, we considered my parents home our home because that's where we could be okay, there was no fighting. It was our sanctuary. And now, we're doing so much better and our home is now our "home." A place filled with love and understanding.
ReplyDeleteStopping by from SITS!
Excellent post. My favorite line: "life expands and contracts." This rings very true.
ReplyDeletePS stopping by from SITS.

Is that really your front porch? I want to be in that picture! Unfortunately, my front porch faces west and gets pelted with the blazing hot southern sun all afternoon, so it's back patio living for us!
