Italian sculptor, Willy Verginer, offers his compelling installation entitled, Cecita Voluta, which in English means Intentional Blindness. I find the title of the work almost as intriguing as the work itself. I think there are times in each of our lives we choose to be "intentionally blind"... some times it's for convenience, other times out of love. Is it ever the right way to handle a situation?

wow...simply incredible..thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWow...what an incredibly unique and interesting exhibit...and yes, I think there are times when it's appropriate to "turn a blind eye" on things, but NOT to turn your back. Kind of like when you're teaching a child a lesson... you may step back and "pretend" not to see what's happening, but all the while not turning completely away in the event that you need to render aid...does that even make any sense? Wonderful, thought-provoking post!
ReplyDeleteStrange....but I wonder how many marriages last because of intentional blindness? Just stopped by from SITS to say hello; hope you will find time to do the same.
ReplyDeleteReally really really really . . . Cool.

ReplyDeleteI usually like to keep my eyes wide open. But (with adult children now) sometimes I have to act as if they are closed.
Or just keep my mouth closed...
