Just like Saretta touched on, it makes me think of the orphans in the Ukraine. Many don't develop because of lack of human touch. I have a dear friend that went over to serve with infant massage in the orphanages and to train others. When she got over there, a group of elderly women said, "We have been praying for years for someone to come and do infant massage. You are an answer to prayer."

Hi! Having studied Reiki myself, and a certified Yoga teacher we discussed the power of touch - the right touch - quite a bit. While I'm not one to go into a yoga class and consistently want hands on me - it's my time to just sink in and disappear, thinking about the fact that to some folks in that room, touch may be so much more. That adjustment during a triangle pose or dancer may be the only human touch they've had for a while. Not only are they assisted to go deeper into their pose (which is bliss in itself) - they've been given something many of us may take for granted. Beautiful post - and hi!

Isn't it interesting how much we need that connection to others? I think i've read that even the act of petting your dog or cat can help lower stress hormones (for both you and the pet!)
